by Avatar in Health Tips, Informative October 20, 2020

Rajasik food

The Rajasi guna is found or named after habits and lifestyle derived from the Kings.

Rajasi guna defines victory, active, a lifestyle to achieve and be unconscious about the present and anxious about the future.

Rajasic habits influence our decision-making skills, drains energy, and disturbs mental mindset

Rajasik food defines fresh, tasty, nutritious and spiced, which transforms to anger, aggression.

These rajasik food benefits in bad sleep, hyperactive mind and anxiety.

Ayurveda and its followers says: A person who is more leaned towards future than present, is not still, but volatile as water, is very much influenced by Rajasic foods.

What comes under the Rajasik food diet?

Rajasic diet includes:

Grains: Millet, corn, and buckwheat.

Vegetables: Potato, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, tamarind, and winter squash.

Beans: Red dal, toor dal, and adzuki.

Dairy: Old sour milk, sour cream.

Meat: Fish, shrimp, and chicken.

Few More are here: Coffee, tea (black and green), cola drinks, and energy drinks, brown or black chocolate, paan, biloba, overly spicy food, salty food, and the unfertilized egg.

Special Mention Rajasic Super Food

Rajasic food is considered to be a food which doesn’t really harm your body or mind. It does stimulate your mind and aggravates it but that doesn’t mean that it harms it.

When we look at the major super foods, most of them come under the sattvik category.

And there is one special mention which I personally recommend – TEA

Precisely, GREEN TEA is the form of tea which is considered as a superfood globally.

But not every form is a super food.

Undoubtedly, all the teas (black, green, oolong, white) come from the same plant named “Camellia Sinesis”

The difference is only in the processing.

The milk tea which we commonly call ‘chai’ in India and many other parts of the world would practically fall under the tamasic type because of its effects and characteristics. The processing of the CTC tea and the inclusion of sugar makes it tamasic.

You’d want to know then which tea is rajasik?

Teas like green, black, oolong, and especially white are rajasic because they contain less caffeine and are healthier options.

They stimulate the your mind.

And if you consume 1-2 cups in a day, you will feel relaxed and energized and also enjoy the benefits of detoxification.

If you choose to drink the full leaf teas with no sugar and any artificial flavors then that will be the healthiest form of tea to offer to your mind and body.

Where to find it?

As Hous of Life, we source teas from the most authentically grown tea farms of Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Assam.

I had personally traveled to the Nilgiris, Darjeeling, and other North-Eastern tea belts to explore the right tea farms that grow teas the authentic way.

The teas are all full leaf. Fresh. And you can feel the difference the moment you have it.
